About Kym:
Kym Butler is the founder of Butlers Business Lawyers. He brings decades of experience as both a legal practitioner and chartered accountant. Kym is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Chartered Tax Advisor, and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Kym brings top-end legal expertise to a boutique setting. He established his first accounting practice in 1976 and quickly built it into one of the largest accounting firms outside Sydney, before merging it with a leading “big four” firm in 1987.
Kym stayed on as a senior tax partner where he continued to build his knowledge and experience, working closely with some of the largest and most successful businesses in Australia. Kym found that he missed the close client relationships and hands-on approach of a smaller firm, and returned to private practice where he combined his legal and accounting qualifications to build a unique firm where he continues to lead an expert team of commercial law professionals today.
Kym works with a variety of individuals, professionals and small to medium businesses. He has advised and represented a variety of prominent businesses in the Newcastle and Sydney region.
When he’s not at work, you’ll find Kym indulging his passion for ocean yacht racing. He’s completed five Sydney to Hobart events and was named CYCA Rookie of the Year in 2009.
